We are looking for Apprentices to join in our 18 M Software Engineering Apprenticeship which will give you real on-the-job work experience. A typical day

  • Our Program has been designed to nurture next generation of junior software engineers. We provide you with training with both classroom & on the job learning. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of languages; Java, Go, Kotlin, Python, CSS, Java Script, Mavern, Spring, etc.
  • You’ll receive support from your placement team, leader, & mentor, as well as a 1:1 coach to aid you in securing a permanent role. We are committed to providing you the opportunity to work on projects that can make a long-lasting impact, as well as a good experience through multiple networking events
  • Responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs & predict challenges
  • Develop software applications part of a Scrum team
  • Learn technical skills, write code, conduct code reviews & testing
  • Work with product managers to prioritize features for new products & manage
  • a list of requirements based on industry trends and new technologies
  • Design work, such as user experience or graphic design
  • Working and collaborating in an Agile Environment
  • Bespoke learning and development program, e.g. technical, leadership,
  • networking & soft skills

You must have

  • Either a High School Diploma, GED, or Associate Degree
  • Candidates with a Bachelors degree are not eligible.
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
  • This is a hybrid role- must have existing commutable residence with expectation to work on-site.
  • Must participate in routine background and clearances
  • The Apprenticeship is comprised of a 12-week bootcamp and 15-months of on-the-job work experience. Your on-the-job work begins after the successful completion of the bootcamp. As the 18-month Apprenticeship is ending, you are encouraged to apply for permanent, full-time roles to continue your employment at American Express.
